Madagascar, the lost Makay

The Makay massif, in the south-west of Madagascar, is one of the last untouched spots on Earth. This inaccessible paradise hosts a millenary biodiversity, unique and unsoiled. The young explorer Evrard Wendenbaum, falling in love with this unexplored region, nurtured the idea of organising a large nature expedition, with the aim of composing an inventory of its nature reaches, and thus rescuing it from uncontrolled deforestation. The underlying hope was to discover new species. At the end of 2010 the dream came true: Wendenbaum took the lead of an international team of scientists and explorers. For two months, while being filmed by director Pierre Stine, pushing into the region in extreme conditinos, the team searched for unknown biological species. At the end of such risky adventure their efforts paid off: they found evidence of almost 80 new species; the expedition turned out to be a success, scientifically and also emotionally.
Filmed in 3D, the documentary unfolds like a film, immersing the audience right into the adventure, as if they part of the expedition...
