- Lipu – Mario Pastore Award - Motivation: Poetic, evocative documentary focusing on an envirionment which is slowly disappearing, even from a land riddled with myths like Ireland. Beautiful photography; the sequence portraying the swans is of great charm and elegance

THE WINNER

On a river in Ireland is the winner of the 18th edition of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival

 

On a river in Ireland (Ireland, 2012) by John Murray is the winner of the 18th edition of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival.

The proclamation, announced by Fabio Fazio in the course of tonight's award ceremony, received an exceptionally warm welcome accompanied by rounds of applause.

The film was awarded the 18th Stambecco d’Oro Trophy – Fondazione CRT award, worth 5.000 euros, assigned by the Jury of the audience.

DAY 5

From the Artic wilderness to the Alps, bear and ibex at the Gran Paradiso Film Festival

 

Unusual, heart-warming friendships between a child and a polar bear cub, the remote origins of the ibex: all of this and much more is the Gran Paradiso Film Festival, coming on day 5, with a lavish program encouraging the audience to metaphorically travel with their imagination and spirit of discovery. 

VENUE CHANGE

The event 'The aspect and soul of nature' - as part of the program of De Rerum Natura - featuring Fabio Fazio and Flavio Caroli, scheduled for Saturday 30 August at 5 p.m. at Maison de Cogne Gérard-Dayné, will take place at Maison de la Grivola instead. The venue is located in the centre of the village.

DAY 4

“The major monotheistic religions and nature” for De Rerum Natura at the Gran Paradiso Film Festival

Today, Thursday 28 August, as part of the extensive program of De Rerum Natura the proposed theme for discussion was “The major monotheistic religions and nature”, with the speakers debating how nature is perceived by the major religions and what is the relationship between them and spirituality.

DAY 3

Nature, Parks and a wide range of perspectives on the environment: the themes of the third day of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival

A debate on nature and the environment, on the future of the Parks and how to protect them, live from the heart of the Gran Paradiso National Park; this was today's program at the De Rerum Natura event of Wednesday, 27 August.

ITER-Art

The next ITER-Art events, featuring itinerant performances by Teatro Instabile di Aosta with live dance and music, and electric vehicles against the backdrop of nature, will take place as follows:

COUNTDOWN

Countdown to the 18th edition of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival

 

The 18th edition of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival will be inaugurated on Monday, 25th of August. Waiting for the Festival, thanks to the ITER project - Imaginez un Transport Efficace et Responsable, the public will have the chance to try a hot hair tethered balloon ride and a range of electric vehicles - car, e-mountain bike, segway and tricycle - from 8 till 11 a.m. in Cogne's Sant'Orso meadows.

The Gran Paradiso Film Festival offers a tribute to cinema master Giuseppe Bertolucci

 

A promising start for the Gran Paradiso Film Festival, which registered more than 2.200 attendances on Monday, as well as over 200 members of the Jury of the audience: these figures proving the reverse trend of the season, characterised by unusually unwelcoming weather.
