The 18th edition of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival will take place from 25 to 30 August 2014 in the Gran Paradiso area.
Created in 1984 by Progetto Natura, the Gran Paradiso Film Festival is one of the most important cinematic events held in the Autonomous Region of Aosta Valley. The purpose of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival is to contribute to the wider circulation of nature cinema, to the furthering of knowledge of the naturalistic heritage and to the growth of respect and awareness of the environment.
The Festival takes place against the splendid backdrop of Gran Paradiso, in perfect accord with its rich biodiversity and propensity to ecotourism. The Gran Paradiso Film Festival juxtaposes the screening of officially selected films to De Rerum Natura, a cycle of events dedicated to nature-related themes, science and the environment, featuring daily conferences, encounters with the directors, artistic performances and educational activities to discover the protected area.
In order to enhance the growth of the Festival, innovate and propose an increasingly rich program, a Streering Council has been formed, with the purpose of being a creative workshop, to which noteworthy individuals connected with the Gran Paradiso area spontaneously give their contribution, offering their energy, intuition and networking. The Steering Council is composed by a representative of the show business, Fabio Fazio, an expert of the Institutions, Luciano Violante, and by the Festival Artistic Directors, Luisa Vuillermoz and Gabriele Caccialanza.
