Gran Paradiso Film Festival

From July 23 to 28, 2018 in Cogne and August in the Grand-Paradis valleys
Two days to live the spirit of Introd through the discovery of the territory with the electric mountain bikes and guided tours of the Castle and the Bridge (celebrating its 100th anniversary), but also exploring the Park with the images of the special screenings of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival.
Next  20th  and 21st  August will be a valuable opportunity to explore areas of the Gran Paradiso National Park  from various perspectives.  In the framework of the event "Genius Loci, a bridge to the Park”, within the twentieth edition of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival, it will be possible to explore the territory embracing nature, history and culture. In the morning, cycling  smoothly on electric mountain bikes; while in the afternoon through the narration of the history of Introd Castle and Pont Nou and, finally, in the evening, looking at the Gran Paradiso National Park through four special screenings of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival.
The first event is scheduled on August 20th , departure from Introd Castle at 9 a.m., for a hike by e-bike - only for people aged 16 or more and previous booking - through the valleys of Rhêmes and Valsavarenche and return to Introd  at 4 p.m., accompanied  by national mountain bike instructors and nature guides. Afterwards, there will be a guided tour of the castle and the bridge and to the photographic exhibition “Lo Pont Nou d'Introd. Un trait d’union centenaire (1916-2016)”, at the Cappella del Santo Sudario. The initiative will be replayed the next day, August 21st, same format but a different itinerary to the heights of Introd and beyond the village of Les Combes, through a circular path leading back to Introd in the afternoon.

At the end of the two days, from 9 p.m., the ancient residence of the Lords of Introd will host a special screening selection of films by the directors Anne, Erik and Véronique Lapied:  August 20th  with the documentary Voyage au bout de l’ hiver  and Mille et une traces; next night with the screening of Alexandre, fils de berger and Le clan des renards.
The initiative is part of the cycle "Genius loci", events organized in the context of the twentieth edition of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival, aimed at discovering the spirit of the place of the different locations of the Gran Paradiso, through the exploration of the territory and special screenings of the Festival.
 

The Festival is organized by Fondation Grand Paradis in partnership with Aosta Valley Autonomous Region -  Department of Tourism, Sport, Commerce and Transport; Compagnia di San Paolo; Fondazione CRT; Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities;  Gran Paradiso National Park; Federparchi and Montura.
