Gran Paradiso Film Festival

From July 23 to 28, 2018 in Cogne and August in the Grand-Paradis valleys

The rain and the cold did not discourage the Festival audience, which came in flocks today to attend the two events of the De Rerum Natura program set in the garden of Maison de Cogne Gérard-Dayné.

“Question Time: your curiosities on the Park answered”, the first afternoon talk, offered the public a chance to address eight experts working for some of the major Italian Parks. The debate allowed the panelists to share their thoughts with the public, answering many interrogatives of the spectators and of many who submitted their question by email. The topics covered several aspects of the protected areas: economy, tourism profitability, projects, issues, and of course interesting facts regarding animals.

Paolo Calcidese, the astrophysicist and coordinator of research activities at the astronomical observatory of the Autonomous Region of Aosta Valley, intrigued the audience with the conference 'Water and life in the Universe', approaching the topic with irony, clarity and scientific accuracy.

During the screenings of the official selection Klaus Reisinger and Frédérique Lengaigne, the directors of 'Life size memories', presented their work, which won the Best Photography Award at Slovenia's Matsalu Festival. In their words: “La Vallée de Cogne et le Grand Paradis sont un des meilleurs endroits possibles pour un festival qui parle de nature et d’animaux. Le nombreux public du Festival encourage notre travail”.
