[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On December 11, International Mountain Day, Fondation Grand Paradis and the Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention celebrate the Alpine cultural heritage within the festival “Reading the Mountains”.<\/p>\n

The initiative, organized by the Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention since 2015, promotes a series of events dedicated to mountains and literature in various Alpine locations. The Festival merges “mountains and culture” of the Alpine territory in a single event.<\/p>\n

Fondation Grand Paradis, Infopoint of the Alpine Convention since 2012, with its three visitor centers of the Gran Paradiso National Park in Cogne, Rh\u00eames-Notre-Dame and Valsavarenche, joins the initiative with the virtual event \u201cThe values of the alpine culture among the pages of mountain books”<\/em>. \u00a0From December 5 to 11, on the Fondation Grand Paradis website, the presentation of Marco Albino Ferrari’s latest book: “Mia Sconosciuta” will be available online together with a video of the Alpine Convention (with Italian subtitles) to introduce to the audience its commitment for the protection and the sustainable development of the Alpine territory.<\/p>\n

Video contents and information materials of the Alpine Convention were also available on Saturday, December 5 at the Visitor Center of the Gran Paradiso National Park of Cogne.<\/p>\n

Marco Albino Ferrari, writer and journalist, director of \u201cMeridiani Montagne\u201d magazine, is an Italian reference point for the dissemination of Alpine culture. Among his publications: \u201cAlpi segrete. Storie di uomini e di montagne\u201d (2011), \u201cLe prime albe del mondo. Viaggi, esplorazioni, scalate\u201d (2014), \u201cLa via incantata. Nella natura, dove si basta a s\u00e9 stessi\u201d (2017) and \u201cFr\u00eaney 1961. La tempesta sul Monte Bianco\u201d (2018).<\/em><\/p>\n

His latest book “Mia Sconosciuta” tells the great mountain, with its glaciers and high peaks, around the figure of the author\u2019s mother, describing her passion for those pristine high-altitude landscapes, that are so threatened today.<\/em><\/p>\n
