Important news for the Gran Paradiso Film Festival

Shortly follownig the press conference for the presentation of the XVII edition of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival, which was held on 8 August at the Regional Palace of Aosta, the news arrived that two significant figures would take part in this year's Festival, thus enriching the event's program and partnership.

During the event scheduled for 5 p.m. on Friday 30 August at Maison de Cogne Gérard Dayné, included in the “De Rerum Natura” program, the Gran Paradiso Film Festival will host Professor Gaetano Quagliariello, Minister for Constitutional Reforms. The Minister will take part in a debate alongside Mr. Luciano Violante, former President of the Chamber of Deputies, and Professor Valerio Onida, former President of the Constitutional Court, on the topic of 'Reforming the Constitution: the relationship between the State and the Regions and the consequences for the Autonomous Region of Aosta Valley'. The debate will be moderated by Professor Fabrizio Cassella, the Dean of the University of Aosta Valley, and will be followed by the Lectio Magistralis by Professor Valerio Onida on 'The nature of the Constitution'.

Luisa Vuillermoz, Director of Fondation Grand Paradis, explains that ''the presence of a Minister of the Republic for the second consecutive year  bestows prestige on the Gran Paradiso Film Festival. After Professor Ornaghi, Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities of the past government, who was one of the protagonists of the past Festival edition, we have now the pleasure to welcome Gaetano Quagliariello, the Minister for Constitutional Reforms. This is a confirmation that De Rerum Natura is a tangible occasion for debate and the ideal scenario to share ideas on topics which are highly relevant to our times'.

The second important  news is the formalisation of the financial support granted by the General Direction for Cinema - Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities - in the wider context of encouraging the promotion of Italian cinema. The General Direction for Cinema - Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities - supports the Gran Paradiso Film Festival  for the second consecutive year, showing, with its sponsorhip, the cultural value of the Festival and allowing it to develop the full range of activities envisaged by the program.
